Great product for the value. Only disappointment is the length of time it took for me to receive it. Would be great if they made one with colors that were boy specific too!

I have a 4th generation Nano, and have had trouble finding a speaker dock that is compatible (one that charges and plays music). I was excited when I saw this one on Amazon, because it is shown with the same type of iPod that I have. I just received this item today, and to my dismay it does NOT come with a dock adapter for the 4th generation Nano. Is it too much to ask iHome to include an adapter that fits the iPod actually depicted on the box? You wouldn’t think so, but I guess I was wrong. In short I give this an average of 3 stars (5 for the sound quality, 1 for the fact that they are too cheap to put the correct dock adapter in the box). ETA: I found that the white plastic adapter than Apple includes with the Nano will fit this speaker system. Luckily I still had it tucked away in a drawer…

First iHome product I’ve owned; got it for Christmas from my parents. I love how the colors change, and how I can use it to charge my iPod Nano. It has really great sound as well. Worth the money, in my opinion.

I just want to share with people that this does NOT come with an adapter for the 3rd generation ipod nano. It was disappointing for my daughter to receive it on Christmas with no way to play her ipod. -Especially since it says it is compatible with the 3rd generation ipod nano. I will be buying an adapter for a few dollars from ihome, but you should be aware that you will need to order the adapter separately. I have used my newer ipod nano in it and it has really good sound. We all love the beautiful changing colors.

It may seem like an extravagant gift for a toddler, but you can’t beat the price for such a great little system. As a musician and audiophile, I was given the charge of gifting my favorite music to my 9 month old and first niece for Christmas. To do this, I downloaded nearly 1700 of my favorite songs onto an 8 Gig iPod and then chose an audio system to play them on.

When choosing the right audio system, I had to consider many factors outside of sound. This is a little atypical for me, as I generally choose sound quality over any of the normal things people consider. So, this time, I looked for all that other stuff: pleasing aesthetics for a child’s room, durability, ease of care and use, and it had to be cool, because it’s from her cool aunt! Sound quality stood about fourth on the list for this purchase, but I was very pleased with it when I heard it with all of my music and I believe as my niece grows up, she will be pleased with it as well.

I love the color changing option. It’s more sophisticated and subtle than I thought it would be; the softness of the light is excellent for a baby’s room. I would expect that pre-teens and teenage girls would really like it as well. I do not believe it is masculine enough for most teenage boys though.

The cube is very modern, the clean lines are elegant and understated. And, at $60, if my niece throws it on the ground when she’s 1 or 2 or 3, well, nobody will be devastated by its demise.

I would recommend the system over many others in its class for sound quality and I think it’s a fantastic low budget option for those looking for a good quality docking station to play their tunes on.

    Highly recommend!

    S~
