The projector was bought for use in Tanzania. It was easy to transport in my carry-on luggage as it is so light and compact. It is also very easy to use. Initially, it will be used for health education in rural areas – with the use of a generator or an inverter.

Great purchase. Worked right out of the box and my husband didn’t even need the instructions! we use it for the backyard with an inflatable movie screen and the volume is great – didn’t even need to hook up extra speakers. Highly recommend, well worth the money.

My Movie Mate 55 arrived about 3 weeks ago and we watched about 15 movies on it to date. Some I played right thru the machine, some thru another DVD player and some from my Satellite Dish Network. Picture was awesome from all sources. Easy to set up, adjust and control. One thing I wish were better is there is no RCA jacks for audio out when playing a DVD from the machines DVD slot but the built in speakers work well if you are not looking for Surround Sound from your main system. You can by-pass this by plugging a splitter in from the headphones jack out to your system to get Surround Sound from your main system. Another thing I wish they did was put a “Users Guide Book” with full details instead of the DVD Info Disk which is best read from ADOBE Reader. Other than that, this is an AWESOME Machine for home movies. Portable, Packaged Excellant for delivery and bright clear picture makes this a Great Buy.

I purchased this item for a client to be used in a kids’bunkroom, using it with the Epson Duet screen. Works great! Will also be ordering another one for a client for outdoor “movie night” Have to be careful as to placement in room though and consider distance to screen and where to place the projector. Client loves it. Wasn’t too pleased with Amazon’s delivery. I was supposed to have gotten free 2 day Prime shipping, but didn’t. I wound up paying for the 2 day shipping and it took longer than 2 days. Emailed Amazon about this, first response was not helpful. Emailed again with all information and there was no reply. A little disappointed in customer service.

We bought this in a panic to show a video presentation at a banquet after the school projector was found to be too problematic.
Fingers crossed, we set this Epson Movie Mate 55 up in front of a 110 inch screen of white photo background paper, plugged in a computer speaker set with sub woofer, turned it on and stuck in a DVD. WOW! It was awesome. From 100 feet away the picture was bright, clear and just stunning. The sound was awesome as well.
This player performed flawlessly! The DVD player makes it all worth the not too expensive price! Banquet saved.
My husband plans on using this to view music video DVDs outside in the summer time on the 110 inch screen. He thinks the picture is better than our big screen TV. And its way more portable.
Pros: compact, light, has sound, good video, no computer needed, good remote control, good settings for different lighting situations, great picture. Quiet Cons: none so far.
Highly recommended.
