I have this ceiling mounted and currently projected on a beige wall. The image is 120″ and stunning. I haven’t even fiddled with the contrast, brilliant color, or any other settings and it is awesome. I viewed the Sony Projectors (NOT DLP) at a store and the way below average image quality nearly made me abandon the idea of a projector. I am glad I bit the bullet and didn’t let so-so sony steer me wrong. I have a 120″ TV for a tenth the cost of a plasma!

I’ve been glued to the plaster wall 4 the last week, that’s when I recieved my projector. After figuring out how to get sound to go along w/ my picture (Bose SoundWave Radio),I came out to write my review, after reading a few opions about screens. Are you SERIOUS! a screen will improve my plasma-like 120″picture!!!For now who needs a screen or surround sound,I’m so happy! P.S.* HD content the Best*Reg.DishNet Ok*A Dark Room A must.

I purchased the Mitsubishi HC1500 in June 2008 after a move into a larger house. Some friends came over, we installed it on the ceiling and put up the screen and were ready for movies in no time at all. Everyone was blown away by the amazing picture this projector threw on the screen whether we were watching sports on cable in HD or a good blu-ray movie. Everything was going great for the first eighteen months of ownership.
Then it happened.
About three months ago, the projector began making a remarkably noticeable whirring noise. It didn’t take much research to diagnose the problem as a color wheel noise issue. After a few calls to repair centers and to Mitsubishi, it became apparent the cost to repair this issue would run about $300-400. That’s about half of what I paid for the projector! Knowing that I would soon be in need of a new bulb as well, another ~$250, I decided just to live with the noise until the bulb was done and save the $550-650 for my next upgrade.
Before the bulb reached 2,300 hours, the entire thing has quit working altogether. It powers on, but then quickly powers itself down. It has been quite sad watching the slow demise of this once amazing piece of equipment.

You can read all the reviews you want. I absolutely love this projector. You can play this in moderate light and have a nice picture! It’s fairly quiet and gives a really detailed picture (even in low light mode works excellent)- you will not be dissappointed. For under a grand you can’t go wrong. Myself plus friends and family love coming over to watch an event such as the superbowl or world series. My next choice will be a projector with 1080P output and Mitsu will be my first consideration. If you are looking for a projector for the first time and don’t want to spend big bucks – go for this projector HC1500 – oustanding picture!!! A BEST BUY!!!

I bought this around Thanksgiving
before ..(BCS and NFL) finals, primarily for ME (myself)!
(since no one else thought we should spend that much $$$’s for a big screen projector) SOOOooo, I made it a Christmas gift for US (all)!
I have personally used this (during the last 2 years ) about 60 ( YES!! … sixty) TOTAL hours; and, have walked in the room and seen everyone ELSE using it, CONSTANTLY.
the 2000 hour bulb warning has been indicating for some time now.
(while we (THEY) are approaching 3000 hours by NOW !)
Bulb still going !!! ($90 – $145 replacement cost . . . SOMEDAY!)
I put this with a reasonable sound system and it has…. BEEN WORTH IT!
The family loves it. I am glad.
Providing this (VALUE); QUALITY at this price.
I will BUY this brand again (1080i ) … when I save up some $$$$ and find a good reason to replace OR give this one away.
