Where I can buy a home theater system with digital coaxial audio input?
By admin On August 30th, 2010My cable box and my DVD player both have on the back a digital coaxial audio output. I’m looking for a home theater system with digital coaxial audio input. My friend already gave me the digital coaxial cable. I don’t want a home theater with only left (white) and right (red) inputs. Thanks!

Any of them except for the cheapest out there are going to have a digital coaxial connection. My Sony receiver does. Just keep looking and don’t start out at the cheapest possible ones.

99.9% of all receivers will have 1 coaxial or more input. Get an Onkyo. They offer fantastic performance for a great price. You can check specs on their website: http://www.onkyousa.com/
They feature component receivers and component receiver + speaker packages. I’d recommend the TXSR-507 — it features HD audio via HDMI for blu-ray movies (sounds amazing if you have high quality speakers AND it has 2 coax inputs for you to hook up cable and DVD boxes.
Just as a reminder, red/white analog inputs can handle surround sound just fine, you just need 5 red/white-pair cables to connect it!! I prefer HDMI or, if I don’t have the option, Digital Optical (Toslink) is solid.
