My cable box and my DVD player both have on the back a digital coaxial audio output. I’m looking for a home theater system with digital coaxial audio input. My friend already gave me the digital coaxial cable. I don’t want a home theater with only left (white) and right (red) inputs. Thanks!
I am trying to play music from my computer through my Home Theater System. My home theater system has an USB port, but when I try to connect that to the one on my computer, the message “no USB” shows up on the home theater system. Is there any special software or hardware that I need to connect the two?

I have a TV, which has a HDMI IN
, set up box has HDMI OUT
and home theater has HDMI OUT. I dont have HDMI IN to my home theater system.
When I connect with analog audio cable from my set up box to home theater, I am getting sound from both TV and home theater system. And also for video I have HDMI cable connected from setup box to TV.
Is there a way to avoid sound from TV? Please help me on this. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Using specifications such as wattage, etc, how can I tell the quality of a home theater system? I want to find a good set for around $100-$200 but I don’t know a lot about sound fidelity. Also, any home theater system suggestions?
My boyfriend just bought a plasma TV and I’d like to buy him an home theater system but I don’t have a clue where to begin. I’ve been trying to research online but it seems like there’s so many details to figure out – how many watts do I need, do I need a new DVD player with it, do I want to buy it piece by piece or HTIB? Ahhh. I’d like to spend somewhere around $200, max $300 but I don’t know if this is realistic for a good system and don’t want to get him a cruddy one just for the sake of getting one. I know he’s really interested in the ones that have a rear wireless speaker – and I don’t know too much more than that. Anyone knowledgeable out there with some good recommendations, a place I should begin my research or willing to have some dialouge with me about the best systems and what I should look for? I think I’ll eventually go to CC or BB but I’d like to be armed with some info first. Thanks ahead of time for your help!
I bought this sony 5.1 home theater system from circuit city. I want to install the speakers within the walls, but firedog is very expensive. Are there any other local people who can install a home theater system for cheap?
I am getting a new 46″ Samsung HDTV and want a home theater system with it. I am looking to spend less than 700 although higher priced recommendations are welcome. I also want one that is WIRELESS because I hate fussing with cables. I will also be getting a PS3 Slim so I don’t see the point of a Blu-Ray Player.

I have dish network, and have a new vizio LCD tv with a RCA home theater system hooked up to the tv. The back of the theater system has an optical audio cable input along with the tv but the satellite receiver does not.

I recently installed a wireless home security systems (ADT), and now I am noticing a clicking emanating from my home theater system. I am wondering if it is caused by the new security, and if so, how can I fix it?
A bit of detail on the clicking: it is similar to, but not the same as, the phone interference caused by certain (GSM) phones.
I have my panasonic viera TC-P42S1 tv hooked up with my HT-S5200 onkyo home theater system via HDMI cable. How do I use my home theater system speakers rather than the tv speakers? @The One: Thanks for the answer. So, I should buy a receiver with speakers and not a dvd home theater. But what about TV? Will TV (from normal antennas etc) connect to that receiver for surround sound?
