If you own a home theater, you should have a surge protector with line conditioning. Most people simply use power strips, which are small and easy to use. The problem is that they’re not effective. We recommend that you throw your power strip away. Immediately. Power isn’t consistent – there are always spikes, coming from a number of different sources. Because of the inconsistencies, surges will occur, and your equipment will then wear out much faster. A lot of electronic noise comes from your household as well, from devices such as microwaves, refrigerators, vaccuums, etc. Line conditioning in surge protectors will reduce the added noise to your home theater system. The more you move up in quality in your line conditioning surge protector, the more you’ll increase the number of filters and quality of those filters. You’ll also increase isolated banks. There are a variety of different surge protectors on the market that that are available at OneCall. Learn More: www.onecall.com

Here’s a gadget that should bring the computer into your home theater system a lot more. [ www.chinavasion.com ] Chinese electronic products makers seem to have figured out that when it comes to entertainment solutions around the house the simplest solution is often the best. Especially when it comes to connecting your PC to TV. Makers of the latest China wholesale electronic gadget to enter the fray, the HDMI converter box, do away with the whole wireless streaming idea and follows the ‘wire goes in, wire goes out’ solution. All that is required is to plug in the VGA cable into one port in the HDMI adapter and the HDMI cable into the other end and you’ve got yourself a PC TV party. As a result this PC to TV video converter shouldn’t only be good for getting videos from your computer to your TV via the VGA cable. You should also be able to get component video to HDMI just like VGA to HDMI so those ‘older gadgets’ like VCRs and the like can be hooked to the TV too. So HDMI Pong is a go. This is a video of why I hate time warner cable. Have a Sony DTS 7.1 Home Theater system, watching TNTHD a good viewing volume on the receiver is 50 – 55. Current volume in shot is 50, this shows what happens when you transition between a show and commercials, specifically but not limited to Time Warner cable commercials. Notice the receiver kicks out of AC3 DTS and goes to 2.1 audio? I wouldn’t watch normal TV at this volume, even blast music at this volume.. This happens every commercial break. My camera may not be able to display just how freaking LOUD the commercial goes. Might reshoot this with a direct audio input to the camera.
