This is the video I promised of the picture quality I’m getting from my Home Theater system. Keep in mind; the camera I took this with is two years old and doesn’t have HD settings, so the whites and blacks are a little off from the actual video. Since I am using the projector as a monitor, I can actually adjust the picture quality, gamma, color and vibrancy from my computer instead of relying on the LCD’s built-in settings. The video feed is VGA and is connected to a 4-way VGA switch. I have two towers and 2 laptops connected at any given time, the towers both have video cards that support dual output and the laptops have VGA outputs as well. This means that, once each computer has been properly set up, I only have to hit the switch to change the video input. The downside to this system is the fact that I am currently using a stereo to output to the speakers. This means that I have to manually unplug the audio auxiliary cord from the old computer and move it to the new one in order to enjoy the sound properly. I do plan to use a more sophisticated sound system later, but since this is a budget project, I will have to take my time and find the right equipment at the right price.
